Anthony Joshua Vs Joseph Parker Reaction

Anthony Joshua Vs Joseph Parker Reaction

Anthony Joshua continued his rise to stardom on Saturday. In a good technical boxing match Anthony Joshua stalked Joseph Parker for all 12 rounds. Using the jab regularly, the hooks when needed and a few decent uppercuts. Officially the judges scored the fight 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109 all in favor of Anthony Joshua.

Joseph Parker had a strong showing. Winning two rounds on my scorecard and giving AJ a real test. The best rounds for Parker came in rounds 5 and 6 which I thought he won. When he landed several hard combos, that I thought visibly hurt Joshua. He landed a decent amount of body shots throughout the fight. A good showing for a 26-yr old champion in a loss. He will be back, better than before that’s a fact.

Anthony Joshua was clinical in his approach. Using the jab to set up his hooks and body work. He control Parker’s movement the entire fight, landing punches over and over. Although neither man was ever in any danger, the pace of the fight was actually pretty fast. The best shots of the fight were easily landed by Joshua; who left the fight without a scratch on him, credited his win to his jab and being a boxer not a fighter.

There were a lot of referee stoppages that didn’t make sense. In the first real offensive exchange between the two boxers the referee stepped in to separate them. Whenever Joshua and Parker would clinch, the ref would immediately separate the boxers before either of them could get any offense going. At one point the commentators were audibly upset about the constant stoppages. Regardless of that, the boxers still continued to press forward and clinch with one another.

Now 21-0 the biggest question is, what’s next for Anthony Joshua? Whom now holds the IBO, WBO, IBF, WBA heavyweight titles is now the unified heavyweight champion. He has one belt to go to become the undisputed heavyweight title. A belt that is held by his number one rival Deontay Wilder, the WBC heavyweight champion. When Anthony Joshua was asked about what’s next, his answer short and simple, “Wilder or Fury.” When asked about fighting Wilder Joshua had this to say: “I’m about business, so let’s get the business done.” Joshua’s team has stated before that they’re willing to fight Wilder in America, but would prefer to do it in London. When asked by Sky Sports about how he would beat Wilder, Joshua said, “get him in the ring, and I’ll knock him spark out.”

The matchup the world wants to see is Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder to decide who is the undisputed heavyweight champion. Wilder is 40-0 with 39 knock outs. While Joshua is 21-0 with 20 knock outs of his own. Wilder has already stated that he is willing to fight Joshua in London. That fight has a zero percent chance to be boring. That is the fight I want to see over any other heavyweight fight. A classic U.S.A. vs the U.K. heavyweight title fight is what ya boxing fans deserve. Hopefully the deal gets done before the end of 2018.

What a night for Anthony Joshua, this is his moment and he deserves to bask in it. Congrats on the win big man. Can’t wait for the next one.
