Angle on NXT TV signals MAJOR change for NXT TakerOver: Brooklyn IV

Angle on NXT TV signals MAJOR change for NXT TakerOver: Brooklyn IV

Reports earlier today were suggesting that Aleister Black’s groin injury is more severe than formally believed. On tonight’s episode of NXT, Black was “attacked” in the parking lot outside of Full Sail Arena. This will likely be the angle that writes Black out of the triple threat match a NXT TakeOver Brooklyn IV.

It should be noted that the angle was done in a very interesting manner, as multiple superstars can be named as multiple suspects. As NXT General Manager William Regal walked into the parking lot, Johnny Gargano was seen walking back into the building at a rather quick pace, as well as the Undisputed Era seem feeling the scene in a convertible.

The former NXT Champion suffered an injury during a house show match with current champion Tommaso Ciampa when he was hit below the belt during a “crotch-shot”.

The original plan for NXT TakeOver was for Black to face Ciampa and Johnny Gargano in a triple threat match as the main event for the NXT title. However, those plans seem to be in jeopardy. With that said, the alternative will be to continue the saga of Ciampa and Gargano in a single bout.

While no doubt the match would be phenomenal, there is a good chance that NXT fans are hoping for something a little different; with the addition of Black and the NXT title to the feud certainly added intrigue. However, now with the Black most likely out of the picture,  how will this change the plans for August 18th’s main event?

Will another name be added? Will a stipulation be added? We will have to wait and see.
