At 33 years old, we are at the end of one of the best of this generation’s career. Adrian Peterson is still on the free agent market. Peterson has spent the last two seasons injured and still looks to return to the field by the end of the offseason.
Peterson stated in an interview with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that he would “definitely be open” to a return to the New Orleans Saints. This is rather surprising given the way he was used by the Saints at the start of last season.
Behind Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram, Peterson became an afterthought in the Saints offense. This led him to he traded mid-season to the Arizona Cardinals after David Johnson got injured.
Ingram will serve a four game suspension to start the season. It’s being reported that Kamara’s Work load won’t be increased and that the Saints won’t find a replacement for Ingram. Peterson to the Saints seems unlikely at this time.
