Aaron Jones Re-Signs With Green Bay

The Green Bay Packers made sure that they brought back a key member of their 2020 offense last year. Aaron Jones re-signs with the Green Bay Packers on a four year, $48 million contract. Jones has spent his entire four year career with the Packers. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 2017 NFL Draft. It was widely speculated in the media that the Packers would let him walk in free agency next week with AJ Dillion ready to take the helm.

Aaron Jones Re-Signs with Green Bay only means one thing. The Packers are all in on the 2021 season. In 2020 Jones finished with 1,104 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns in the 14 games he played in. He finished fourth in the league in rushing yards. In the receiving game he also had 47 catches for 355 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jones also led the league in rushing touchdowns in 2019 with a total of sixteen.

On his entire career he has amassed 3,364 rushing yards and 37 touchdowns in the 54 games he has played in. His career receiving numbers stand at 131 receptions for 1,057 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Jones very well might be the most important player on the Packers offense behind QB Aaron Rodgers. Of course you could make the argument that Devante Adams is the second most important player.
