A huge blow was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, all-star point guard Ben Simmons has left the NBA’s Orlando bubble to have surgery to remove a loose body in his left knee.
There is currently no timeline for Simmons’ return, but his status will be updated in the near future.
The 76ers have not yet ruled the Australian forward out for the remainder of the season, but Wojnarowski says that Simmons is unlikely to return to the club unless the 76ers “make a deep playoff run.”
Simmons left the game with what appeared to be a knee injury in Wednesday night’s win over the Washington Wizards. He was later ruled to be out indefinitely.
With Simmons out for the foreseeable future, how will the 76ers deal with this absence?
