205 Live Results: 5/1

The land of the Curiserweights had an interesting showing Tuesday night. At the moment, no Cruiserweight match is booked for the first dual branded PPV of the new era (non-big four). With that said, a Pre-Show match is always a possibility, leaving 205 Live to do what it does best in the meantime: provide a good show, and move storylines as much as possible. With that, let’s get into the action.

The Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher vs Hideo Itami and Akira Tozawa

The two teams provided a serviceable match, with the story being the issues in the Itami/Tozawa camp. Miscommunication would lead to Gallagher and Kendrick picking up the win. After the match, Itami got physical with Tozawa and pushed him down. All signs point the beginning of the end for the duo and a possible match down the line.

Buddy Murphy vs Liam Louis

After making weight and being cleared for competition, Murphy demanded a title shot for the Cedirc Alexander’s title. What he got was a match against local talent Liam Louis, who he proceeded to powerbomb into absolute oblivion. It was so bad that the referee called off the match.

After the match, the champ’s music played and out he came. Murphy and Alexander would end up brawling to the back. Alexander would then later say in a backstage interview that if Murphy wants a match, he knows where to find him.

Drew Gulak vs Kalisto

The main event pitted a scrappy technician in Drew Gulak against Lucha House Party member, and former champ, Kalisto.

The match would go on to be a very good showing by both competitors, and even drew a “this is awesome” chant from the audience. The match would end when Gulak sinked in the Gu-Lock for a tap out victory.
