Over the past few weeks, there has been speculation on Russell Westbrook being on his way out of Houston with the team taking offers for him after a report came out that Westbrook was no longer happy in Texas and wanted to be traded. On Wednesday the Rockets pulled the trigger on Westbrook, trading him to the Washington Wizards for John Wall and a 2023 protected first round pick. Westbrook and Wall are under contract until after the 2022-23 NBA Season.
In 57 regular season games last season, Westbrook averaged 27.2 points, 7.0 assists, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals. In 8 post season games, he averaged 17.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assist, and 1.5 points.
John Wall has not played since December of 2018 due to several injuries. In 32 games in the 2018-19 season, Wall averaged 20.7 points, 8.7 assist, 1.5 steals, and 3.6 rebounds before suffering a heel injury which ended his season. Before returning to the court, Wall suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon while slipping and falling in his home.
