For the past several months, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have been extremely vocal about having a fight in the near future. After speculation of when the fight will happen, the fight is now official. On Thursday, the UFC announced that Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier will be happening at UFC 257. UFC 257 will take play on January 23 2021. McGregor and Poirier fought at UFC 178 in 2014 with McGregor taking the win TKO in the first round. This will also be McGregor first fight since announcing his retirement on June 6 2020.

Coming into this fight McGregor had a record of 22-4 with 19 wins by knockout, 1 by submission and 2 by decision. In his last fight against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 on January 18 2020, he defeated Cerrone in the first round by knockout.

For Poirier, he is coming into this fight with a record of 26-6-1 with 12 wins by knockout, 7 by submission and 7 by decision. In his last fight against Dan Hooker at UFC Fight Night on June 27 2020, he defeated Hooker by unanimous decision.
