In the battle of the 2012 draft picks, Russell Wilson stuns Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings 27-26  with a come from behind win

Everything in the first half seemed to be going the Vikings way this Sunday night with Dalvin Cook getting it started off by scoring on the first drive of the game. Cook was not the only one to have it going. Kirk Cousins was spreading the ball around, taking the Vikings down the field multiple times and only punting once. The defense was not letting Wilson have any time in the pocket because of Head Coach Mike Zimmer and his well thought out blitzing schemes. Dan Bailey kicked two field goals as well, putting the Vikings up 13-0 at the half.

It was a slow start to the third quarter for both sides having a few 3 and outs, but the big news was Cook being sidelined with a groin injury. This left the game open for the Seahawks to take flight. Wilson was able to connect with Will Dissly and DK Metcalf. Then following an interception from Cousins, Chris Carson had a 29-yard touchdown run pushing the score to 21-13 Vikings.

Minnesota was not going to walk away without a fight. Cousins responded with two touchdowns to Adam Thielen securing the lead once again for the Vikings, 26-21. The turning point of the game came late in the 4th quarter. Right after the 2-minute warning, the Vikings were facing a 4th and 1 on Seattle’s 6-yard line. Seattle had no more time outs and if they convert the game is over, so they hand the ball off to Alexander Mattison who got stuffed at the line of scrimmage turning the ball over on downs. This gave Wilson enough time to drive down the field and score after four plays from the Minnesota 6 yard line. Metcalf had his second touchdown of the night giving the Seahawks the win. The math told Zimmer to go for it on 4th and 1 but the numbers did not take into account Wilson.

The 1-4 Vikings look to get back into the win column next week against the 0-5 Atlanta Falcons, while the undefeated Seahawks head into the bye week.
