Ever since blowing a 28-3 lead against the New England Patriots at Super Bowl 51, it has been nothing but a downhill spiral for the Atlanta Falcons. Over the past 3 seasons, Atlanta only made the playoffs once and finished the last 2 seasons 7-9. After losing to the Carolina Panthers in week 5 and starting off the season 0-5, the Atlanta Falcons decided to make some drastic changes. On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons fired Head Coach Dan Quinn and General Manager Thomas Dimitroff. Quinn has been the head coach since 2015 and Dimitroff has been the general manager since 2008.

In his close to six seasons in Atlanta, Dan Quinn had a record of 43-42 reached the playoffs two times losing in the Super Bowl and the NFC Divisional Round. In 5 playoffs games, Quinn had a record of 3-2.

Since being hired as general manager of the Atlanta Falcons in 2008 after six seasons with the New England Patriots, Thomas Dimitroff was responsible for drafting players like Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Vic Beasley, and Desmond Trufant. During his tenure with the team, outside of Dan Quinn, the only other head coach Dimitroff had was Mike Smith.
