Miami Heat’s All-Star Bam Adebayo is planning on returning to Game 4 of the NBA finals. A neck/shoulder strain in Game 1 has kept him out of the last two games of the series. The Heat have gone 1-1 in those games, with the Lakers holding a 2-1 lead heading into the contest.
The Heat shocked the world by taking Game 3 without Adebayo and stellar sixth man Goran Dragic, thanks in large part to a historic performance from Jimmy Butler. He became the third player in NBA history to record a 40 point triple-double in the Finals, joining the Logo Jerry West and his current Finals competitor LeBron James.
While the Heat were able to win this last game without Bam, they were fortunate that the Lakers’ Anthony Davis only played limited minutes due to foul trouble. While reserve bigs Kelly Olynyk and Meyers Leonard held their own, long-term success likely rests on how well Bam is able to check AD for the remainder of the series.
Game 4 is slated for Tuesday night at 9 PM Eastern in the Orlando bubble.
