Star running back Saquon Barkley will miss the reminder of the 2020-2021 season after tearing his ACL in a 17-13 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Barkley injured his knee after being tackled by safety Eddie Johnson. He had to be helped off the field and didn’t return to the game. He finished the game with 28 rushing yards on 4 carries.
Last season an ankle injury kept Barkley off the field for several games and impacted his play. He was still a force to be reckoned with, but injury concerns are on the rise following this tragedy.
The 2nd overall pick in 2018, Barkley has been a top running back in the league who was about to qualify for a large extension with the New York Giants after this season. His injury is a huge blow to the franchise, as well as ruining fantasy football teams around the country.
The Giants are currently 0-2 and with the loss of their star player don’t appear to have a great outlook for the rest of the season.
