Toyota Gazoo Racing has claimed its third consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans victory a the historic Le Sarthe circuit. Sebastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Brendon Hartley drove the No. 8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid to a five lap win over the No. 1 Rebellion R13 Gibson of Gustavo Menezes, Bruno Senna and Norman Nato. The No. 7 Toyota, which held the lead by over two laps in the first half of the race, was denied victory after an issue with their turbo put them behind the wall for almost 30 minutes. The repairs gave the lead to the No. 8 Toyota, who held on to it for the rest of the race.

The most exciting race for a class win came in LMP2, with the No. 22 United Autosport Oreca 07 Gibson claiming the top spot with a 32 victory over the No. 38 JOTA Oreca. Phil Hanson, Paul Di Resta and Filipe Albuquerque drove the No. 22 to victory, the teams first class victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in team history. United Autosport looked to claim a 1-2 in class, with both the No. 22 and No. 32 entries leading the field in the closing hours. However, an oil leak in the No. 32 Oreca ended their chances for a double podium, as the No. 38 of Anthony Davidson, Roberto Gonzalez and Antonio Felix da Costa took advantage to finish in second.

Aston Martin dominated and won in both GTE classes, with the No. 97 Aston Martin Vantage GTE of Maxime Martin, Alex Lynn and Harry Tincknell claiming the victory in GTE Pro. The win came 1 minute and 33 seconds ahead of the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo driven by James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Daniel Serra. Porsche was not a factor to win the class, as they struggled to maintain pace against the Aston Martin and Ferrari entries. In the GTE-AM class, TF Sport claimed their first 24 Hours of Le Mans win with the No. 90 Aston Martin Vantage AMR of Salih Yoluc, Charles Eastwood, Jonathan Adam. Second in class went to the No. 77 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR of Christian Ried, Riccardo Pera, Matt Campbell.
