The Los Angeles Rams beat the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday 37-19 as the Rams improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Eagles are still looking for their first win in 2020. Behind the strong game of Jared Goff, the Rams put up an insane 449 yards overall with 149 of those on the ground. Darrell Henderson Jr. and Malcolm Brown led the team in rushing yards, with Henderson scoring his first NFL touchdown. While Goff was able to throw 267 yards on the day, Tyler Higbee was the one who benefited the most, as he scored all three of the Rams receiving touchdowns. Cooper Kupp and Higbee led the team in receptions with five a piece, while rookie Van Jefferson snagged four receptions for 45 yards.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles played well, but were unable to recover from numerous mistakes. Carson Wentz completed 26 of his 43 pass attempts, failing to throw a touchdown, while also throwing two interceptions. Miles Sanders, in his first game with the team in 2020, rushed 20 times for 95 yards and touchdown, but fumbled the ball once.
Sean McVay stated after the game, “Jared was outstanding. I thought he played a great game. He had a great command of what was going on. He got into a rhythm and our guys made plays, but it starts with him and he did an outstanding job.” Winning quarterback Jared Goff added, “”We had guys open, and I was throwing the ball pretty good. That’s a good combo for us. When we’re moving the ball well, we can kind of do anything we want.”
Week three sees the Rams visit the Buffalo Bills, while the Philadelphia Eagles host Cincinnati Bengals.
