With week 1 of the NFL season beginning, The Los Angeles Rams are finishing up a busy off-season which included getting rid of several players including Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks, and Clay Matthews. Although the team had to get rid of these players, one person that won’t be going anywhere soon is Cooper Kupp. On Saturday, the team and Kupp agreed on a 3 Year deal worth up to $48 Million. Kupp is on the last year of his rookie year contract.
Although the team signed Kupp to a contract extension, Kupp is not the first player on the Rams that got a contract extension this week. Alongside Kupp, the team signed Jalen Ramsey earlier this week to a 5 Year deal worth $105 Million with $71.2 Million Guaranteed. Ramsey was on the last year of his rookie year contract as well as Kupp. The team acquired Ramsey in 2019 from The Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2020 first-round pick, a 2021 first-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-round pick.
Cooper Kupp is coming off his best season in the NFL so far in his career. In 16 games, Kupp had 94 receptions, 1,161 receiving yards, 10 touchdowns, averaging 12.4 yards per catch on 134 targets.
