During his time at Bayer Leverkusen, Kai Havertz became one of the most promising young players in the world at just age 21. After 4 seasons with Leverkusen, Havertz will now make his presence known in the Premier League with Chelsea.
On Friday, Bayern agreed to sell Kai Havertz to Chelsea for £72 million. Chelsea is coming off of securing a spot in the Champions League next season after defeating Wolverhampton 2-0 on the last day of the 2019-20 Premier League Season.
Even though Chelsea has signed Havertz, this is not the only signing the team has made in the past few months. Alongside Havertz, the team has signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for 47.5 million and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax for 40 million which could increase to 44 million.
Throughout the negotiation period, Chelsea has been in the lead for Havertz and teams like Barcelona and Bayern Munich were not as interested in Havertz as Chelsea was which made it easier for Chelsea to get a deal done with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz.
