Following a meeting with the department of player safety, Matt Niskanen, a defenseman for the Philadelphia Flyers, has been suspended one game for his crosscheck on Brendan Gallagher in the fifth game of their series.

Gallagher has been declared done for the playoffs with a playoff ending jaw fracture as a result of the play. This is considered a huge blow for Montreal considering Gallagher is a huge part of that team.

A ONE GAME SUSPENSION to Matt NISKANEN is far too light for the seriousness of the action and the subsequent injury to Brendan Gallagher.

I do tend to agree with you. In my opinion the player should’ve been suspended for the remainder of the series due to the fact that Gallagher’s going to miss the rest of the series as well.
