On February 14th, Manchester City was suspended from playing in the Champions League in the 2021 and 2022 season for serious breaches of the financial fair play rules. Although City has been banned from playing in the Champions League for two seasons, the team has decided to appeal the ruling to the Court of Arbitration for Sports and now we have their decision after months of waiting.

On Monday, it was announced that the ruling has been overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sports and Manchester City will still be eligible to play in the Champions League and the team that finishes 5th in the Premier League will not be getting a spot in the Champions League.
Along with the ban being overturned, the team is still in the running to win the Champions League this year and will play Real Madrid in the second leg of their Round Of 16 matchup. Manchester City beat Real Madrid in the first leg of their matchup
