As reported moments ago from his personal Twitter page, UFC star Conor McGregor has announced he is retiring “from fighting”.

This comes as major shock, as McGregor has been making major fight teases on his social media account in recent weeks. This included a superfight with UFC and MMA legend Anderson “Spider” Silva and current interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje. This in addition to other suggested fights with: Jorge Masvidal, Nate Diaz, and of course Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

If this truly the end, McGregor finishes his career at 22-4 record, and two reigns as both UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion. The Irish born fighter is coming off a 40-second knockout victory over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in January.

It should be noted that McGregor has “retired” before on social media.
