NASCAR has indefinitely suspended Chip Ganassi Racing driver Kyle Larson after using a racial slur during an iRacing event Sunday night.

In a statement released Monday by NASCAR, it states that, “NASCAR has made diversity and inclusion a priority and will not tolerate the type of language used by Kyle Larson during Sunday’s iRacing event. Our Member Conduct Guidelines are clear in this regard, and we will enforce these guidelines to maintain an inclusive environment for our entire industry and fan base.”

The indefinite suspension brought upon by NASCAR comes after his current team, Chip Ganassi Racing, suspended him without pay Monday morning. The slur was heard by all of those watching the live stream of a NASCAR race on iRacing, being conducted on the historic Monza circuit.

  1. I understand rules are rules. I understand it’s a word we don’t use. I get it. But let the punishment fit the crime. Give him a two race suspension and let him race. This is a first time offense, as far as we all know. Kyle is a good person and all you ( NASCAR ) have done is put a sore spot in his heart where you are concerned. You have in mine for sure.
