The Kansas City Chiefs are hard at work with very little cap space trying to secure the team for the 2020-2021 season. Most of the team will be coming back and most of them that re-signed at significantly lower cap hits.

CB Bashaud Breeland hit the open market and got no traction with other teams. He has re-signed with the Chiefs on a one year, $4.5 million deal. Breeland actually gets about a two million dollar pay raise from the one year deal he signed before the 2019 season.

In 2019, Breeland had two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, one of which was a hundred years return for a touchdown. This move was only made possible because of the restructure of the Sammy Watkins contract. Andy Reid used up almost 90% of the cap he had created in that move by re-signing Breeland.
