According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the San Francisco 49ers are sending All-Pro DT DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for the Colts’ 2020 first-round draft pick (#13).
The trade comes just hours after the 49ers locked up DL Arik Armstead on a five-year, $85 million deal.
Rapoport added that the Colts are also giving Buckner a $21 million extension. This extension will see him become the second-highest paid defensive tackle in NFL history, behind only Aaron Donald.
The 25-year-old Buckner had an impressive year in 2019, recording 62 combined tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 14 quarterback hits and 7.5 sacks.
