With the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season set to begin in mere days, a preliminary testing schedule has been released for the Next Gen car.

While the new car will be tested as it has been at Richmond, Phoenix and Homestead as a single car test, NASCAR will conduct organized team tests later in the season.

NASCAR will test the “Next Gen” car at the following tracks and dates:

  • Auto Club Speedway (March 2nd and 3rd)
  • Atlanta Motor Speedway (March 16th and 17th)
  • Bristol Motor Speedway (April 6th and 7th)
  • Dover International Speedway (May 4th and 5th)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway (June 2nd and 3rd)
  • Las Vegas Motor Speedway (July 14th and 15th)

Organized team tests will be conducted at the following tracks and dates:

  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, August 25th (Oval)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, September 8th (Oval)
  • Texas Motor Speedway on Tuesday, September 22nd and Wednesday, September 23rd
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, September 29th (Oval)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, October 13th (Roval)
  • Dover International Speedway on Tuesday, October 13th and Wednesday, October 14th
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, October 27th (Roval)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, November 10th (Roval)
  • Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Tuesday, November 17th and Wednesday, November 18th
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, November 24th (Oval)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, December 8th (Oval)
  • Phoenix Raceway on Tuesday, December 15th and Wednesday, December 16th
