Team of the Week

This week’s team of the week is the Utah Grizzlies (sorry South Carolina your 15 game point streak is still extremely impressive). The Grizzlies started the season off kind of slow, but are now 8-1-1 in their last 10 and on a 5 game winning streak. What has led to that? The Martin Ouellette trade. Ouellette is 8-0-0 with a 1.48 GAA and .943 SV%, which is impressive. He started the season signing with Atlanta after breaking his leg in a stint with the Syrcause Crunch (AHL) last season. In his time with Atlanta he was 4-6-0 with a 3.74 GAA and a .874 SV%. If Utah’s defense stays healthy and Ouellette stays on fire the Grizzlies may just be contenders come June.

Three Stars of the Week

Shane Berschbach, Toledo (3GP 6G 1 A 7 pts) played in his 350th game and got back-to-back hat tricks in games 349 and 350.
Tyler Parsons, Kansas City (2 GP 2-0-0 1.00 GAA .973 SV% 1 SO)
Emil Larmi, Wheeling (2 GP 2-0-0 1.50 GAA .963 SV%)

ECHL Best Fighter Tourney

Every team has at least one representative, but some teams don’t have that one player who is known to drop the gloves especially with the new fighting rule (10 fights equals 1 game suspension). If your team has a representative that you are confused about just know that they most likely were the last person to get in a fight or leading your team in fights according to hockeyfights.com. Links to players’ fighting profiles will be in the comment section of each match-up.
