Team of the Week

This week’s team of the week goes to the South Carolina Stingrays. The Stingrays are currently on an 11 game point streak (8-0-3). In that streak they have outscored opponents 31-19 with 4 shutouts. The goaltending and defense has been phenomenal in that stretch, as both of the Stingrays’ goalies (Parker Milner and Logan Thompson) are in the top 10 goalies statistically, and no defensemen has a negative plus/minus. Milner also leads the league with 5 shutouts. This is a recipe for success and could lead them to the Kelly Cup Finals for the third time in six years.

Three Stars of the Week

Tim McGauley, Utah (3GP 1G 7A 8pts)
Martin Ouellette, Utah (2GP 2-0 1.00 GAA .962 SV%)
Ben Johnson, Cincinnati (3GP 4G 3A 7pts)

ECHL Best Fighter Tourney

Every team has at least one representative, but some teams don’t have that one player who is known to drop the gloves especially with the new fighting rule (10 fights equals 1 game suspension). If your team has a representative that you are confused about just know that they most likely were the last person to get in a fight or leading your team in fights according to hockeyfights.com. Links to players’ fighting profiles will be in the comment section of each match-up.
