Babcock Fired

Toronto Maple Leafs’ Head Coach Mike Babcock has been relieved of his duties earlier today.

Babcock was in his fifth season as Head Coach of Toronto (173-133-45), where he brought the team to three Playoff Appearances, but failed to get out of the First Round once.

Sheldon Keefe from the AHL has been put in Babcock’s place as Head Coach of Toronto, who is currently on a six game losing streak and sit fifth in the Atlantic Division.

It is worth noting that Mike Babcock has 17 years of experience as a Head Coach in the NHL, coached the 2003 Mighty Ducks of Anaheim to the Stanley Cup Finals, and won a Stanley Cup with Detroit in 2008.
