Dallas paired Kristaps Porzingis with Luka Doncic last season to provide the league with one of the most exciting young duos we have seen in awhile. Friday night they performed well, with Luka scoring 38 while recording his 4th triple double of the season in only 8 games and Porzingis adding 28 points and 5 blocks. However, the rest of the Mavericks team did not show up as the only other player that was able to scored in double figures was Tim Hardaway Jr. who scored 14 points but shot 5 for 15.
New York, on the other hand, had an efficient night from the three point line shooting exactly 50 percent; 14 makes in 28 tries. The Mavs also made 14 threes but it took them 44 attempts to do so. The Knicks were led by Marcus Morris Sr. who scored 29 points including 4 of their threes.
A 10-0 run to end the third quarter kept Dallas in the game, but they went cold in the fourth and were unable to secure the win. The Knicks are now 2-7 to start the season with the Mavs now 5-3.
