Nate Diaz VS Jorge Masvidal Recap

After an exciting night of fights that lead up to the main event, fans were anxious to see what action Diaz and Masvidal were going to bring and who would have Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wrap the belt around and crown them the BMF. Boy were we in for a treat.

Masvidal and Diaz looked like they were having way to much fun out there to start the fight. Masividal looked as if he was running at Nate with a flying knee like he hit Ben Askren with for a five second knockout. It got a huge reaction from the crowd and Diaz looked entertained by it. Both fighters were showboating, and hitting each other with good shots. Jorge Masvidal was getting the better of Diaz and dropped him with a great punch and kick combo, almost ending of the fight. Nate was leaking blood, had a nasty cut, but we’ve grown very used to seeing that from him.

Round two was more of the same, Masvidal got the better of the standup against Diaz, stunning him a couple times, dropping him again with a vicious body kick. That wasnt the end of the punishment of Nate’s body as Masvidal kept digging punches and kicks into his ribs.

In round three Diaz did exactly what he does all the time, and he turned up the volume. He started catching Masvidal with some combinations and he was getting the better of some of the exchanges. I almost thought that Nate did not look himself for the first two rounds, but that’s what he wants you to think. I had a feeling Nate was going to make a big comeback in rounds four and five.

After the third round, the doctor was called in to check on Nate Diaz’s cut. Nate said repeatedly that he was fine, but referee Dan Miragliotta was forced to stop the fight. Jorge Masvidal was crowned the BMF. Both Jorge and Nate said they would be down for a rematch. It was an anticlimactic end to the night, but let’s hope that both fighters will run it back soon
