The Washington Redskins have already fired head coach Jay Gruden in the middle of this wasted season. The Redskins sit in dead last in the NFC East at 1-7 so far this season. CB Josh Norman has not played up to his potential at all this year.
Norman is in year four of a five year, $75 million contract. At the time it made him the highest paid CB in the league. He is set to make $5.4 million for the second half of the season and $12 million next year. He also has a $3 million guarantee for next season. Any team bringing him on would look at a $15 million cap hit.
At 31 years old his play has really started to take a hit. He has lost a step or, potentially, just the motivation. A team with money to play with and on the cusp of the playoff picture would do good to take the flyer on him.
The Redskins are the one’s shopping him. Teams aren’t calling about him. If I was a General Manager I would not take the risk of him. He’s not worth the money that he is getting anymore.
