For the time being Nate Diaz has surprisingly removed himself from UFC 244, due to the USADA alerting him of abnormal findings in a recent drug test. In response, Diaz has stated he refuses to take place in next weeks main event unless his name is fully cleared.
Diaz was slated to fight Jorge Masvidal as the main event for UFC 244, on November 2nd at Madison Square Garden in New York. Diaz took to social media with the following message; “I only take Whole foods or natural food supplements…I don’t even eat meat so until UFC, USADA or whoever is F—-ING with me fixes it I won’t be competing”.
UFC 244 was set to be one of the biggest PPV events for the MMA company, and now has it’s main event in limbo and Jorge Masvidal without an opponent. Masvidal quickly took to twitter and stated; “You not the baddest mofo in the game (i am) but you are one of the cleanest mofo’s @NateDiaz209 I’ll see you nov 2. I know your name is clean. I don’t need @usantidoping to tell me s—-!”.
For the time being, reports have stated that the UFC have already had a fighter on standby as a potential fill-in knowing Diaz’s tumultuous past. Leon Edwards has been in training camp for a possible fight with Masvidal and currently appears to be his opponent for the moment.
