During a press conference this morning in Moscow, UFC’s notorious one announced he will return to the octagon on January 18th in Las Vegas, NV. His opponent as this time is unknown, however as reported by ESPN, the two top names being considered are Donald Cerrone and Justin Gaethje.

McGregor has not fought in the UFC since last October at UFC 229 when he lost to current Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

During the press conference, McGregor opened up about his loss last year and blamed it on him not focusing enough on his opponent and the bout itself. With that, he says he is “fully committed”  to his return:

“The people who believe in me deserve better; it is an insult to the people that believe in me that I am not fully committed. So now I am coming back and I’m fully committed. And I am eager to come back and show the best of myself for my fans around the world.” – Conor McGregor (via ESPN).

McGregor would also go on to say that he plans on fighting an additional two times in 2020, as he wants to face the winner of the much anticipated Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal matchup at UFC 244, and also expressed his desire to having a rematch with Khabib in Moscow, preferably for the Lightweight title.

However, the Notorious one should probably look to his own advice, and stay fully focused on one match at a time.
