There’s A New Sheriff in Town

Another week in the books and another week closer until the reveal of who is best player in all of college football.

Week 7 was another crazy week and many players shined again on the big stage, but it was these 3 that have continued to show dominance and poise while thrashing teams this year.

1. Joe Burrow, QB, LSU

Joe Burrow dazzled everyone once agan with an impressive performance against Florida. After throwing for 294 yards and 3 touchdowns, Burrow looks like a man on a mission. He is averaging 376 yards and 4 touchdowns over LSU’s last five games. A date with the Tide on November 9th will be the make or break for Burrow. If he can take down the mighty empire, the Heisman will be his to lose. First, he has to get through a tough Auburn defense on October 26th.

2. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

Tua is just being Tua and the recipe keeps working. While the Crimson Tide have only played one Top 25 team, he has shown that he can throw the ball and throw it well again. He is averaging 335 yards and 4 touchdowns over the last five games for Alabama, while throwing just one interception the whole year. The Crimson Tide will play #2 LSU and #11 Auburn this year, so look for Tua to shine in those games. If he can consistently put up those numbers the rest of the year, he will not be denied come December.

3. Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma

After transferring from Alabama last year, there was certainly doubt about Jalen even becoming the starter at Oklahoma. After winning the first 6 games and defeating #11 Texas in the Red River Rivalry, all doubt should be snuffed out. He is currently averaging 285 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air. While that is nothing to write home about, he is getting it done with his legs too averaging 90.8 yards a game and at least 1 touchdown. If Hurts can keep being the dual-threat that he was recruited to be, there is no reason his name won’t be called at the end of the year.
