The “Watermelon Man” has gained a full time ride with a competitive Xfinity Series team to contest the full series in 2020.

Ross Chastain, who has competed in more NASCAR races than any driver during the 2019 season, will compete full time for Kaulig Racing team next season. Chastain will join teammate Justin Haley for a two-car team aimed at claiming the series championship.

Team owner Matt Kaulig exclaimed, “Ross Chastain has it all – he’s competitive, he’s marketable, he’s all-around a great, blue-collar guy. As a team, we couldn’t be more honored to land a driver like Ross. In just four races already this season, he’s not only helped advance our program, but he brought home this team’s very first win. Having him at Kaulig Racing next season, driving full-time, is a great gain for our organization.”

Chastain currently competes in all three of NASCAR’s top series, with 30 Monster Energy Cup Series starts, 17 Xfinity Series starts and 20 starts in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series. Of those starts, Chastain has claimed three wins in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series and is currently competing for the championship. Chastain also netted the Kaulig Racing team its first win at Daytona in July of this year.
