Sources confirm that the Houston Rockets plan to sit new All-Star guard Russell Westbrook for their preseason game against the Shanghai Sharks on Monday night. The organization wants to be careful with Russ, who had surgery on his right knee during the offseason to clean it up. He should be ready to go for the start of the regular season. The plan is for him to make his Rockets debut on October 8th against the Toronto Raptors in another preseason game that will be hosted in Tokyo, Japan.
Westbrook and Harden reunited this summer after last playing together in Oklahoma City in 2012. It is unknown whether the pairing will work out, as many critics have their doubts on their on-court chemistry, and we are going to have to wait a little longer to see the duo in action.
