Chris Sale Sets A New Record

Chris Sale has not had the best season of his career. He is currently 6-11 with a 4.42 ERA so far this season. As of this writing there is also a game in progress in which he is in line to pick up the win.

Against the Cleveland Indians tonight, Chris Sale broke the 2,000 strikeout mark for his career. He became the fastest player in MLB history to achieve 2,000 K’s. He did this feat in just 1,626 innings pitched.

Pedro Martinez did this feat in 1,715 innings. Randy Johnson hit two grand in 1,734 innings. Clayton Kershaw managed to become do it in 1,837 innings.
