Kadri Suspended

Toronto Maple Leafs’ Forward Nazem Kadri has been suspended by the NHL Department of Player Safety for his cross-check to Bruins’ Forward Jake DeBrusk’s head in Game 2 Saturday night.

Kadri has been suspended by the NHL for the remainder of the first round for his cross check to the head on DeBrusk.

The incident occurred with just over four minutes remaining in the game, which Boston would go on to win 4-1.

With Kadri choosing for an in person hearing in New York Monday just hours before the game starts, it was already known he would not be playing in Game 3 in Toronto; however the question was, how many more games will he miss?

Kadri certainly has a history of suspensions and fines with the NHL, including two 4 game suspensions, two 3 game suspensions, two $2,000 embellishment fines, and a $5,000 fine for his throat slash at Mark Giordano.

This incident occurred exactly one year since his last suspension which was a three game suspension for boarding Boston’s Tommy Wingels in last year’s first round.
