It looks like the Oakland Athletics will still be in search of some outfield help come Spring Training.
Kyler Murray’s tweet earlier today has effectively ended any chances of him playing in the MLB:
Murray won the 2018 Heisman Trophy and is largely projected to be a first-round pick during the draft in April. In June, Murray was drafted No. 9 overall in the MLB draft. If NFL draft projections hold true then Murray would be the first player to ever be drafted in both first rounds of the NFL and MLB.
Murray will have to return $1.29 million of the $1.5 million signing bonus and will forfeit $3.16 million.
