The Washington Wizards guard will reportedly miss the rest of the season and some of the 2019-2020 season after rupturing his Achilles at home. Wall will undergo a second surgery to repair the tendon after an initial surgery resulted in an infection on January 8th.

Wall was averaging 20.7 PPG, 8.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds in only 32 games this season.

This is bad news for the struggling Wizards who are currently 10th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-31. With Wall now out of the picture for awhile the Wizards will now rely even more on Bradley Beal to lead the team with Dwight Howard most likely taking on a larger role as well.

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday so it’s possible that the Wizards will look to make a trade in order to find someone who can fill the shoes left by Wall.
