The West Virginia Mountaineers have found their new head coach just 3 days after reports started that Dana Holgorsen would be leaving to be HC at the University of Houston.
Peter Thamel of Yahoo! Sports leaked that Neal Brown of the Troy Trojans will replace Holgorsen. Brown reportedly agreed to a 6-year contract with the Mountaineers.
Brown went 4-8 in his first season as the Trojans HC, but was able to turn the program around to win at least 10 games in 3 consecutive years, going 3-0 in Bowl games. His defining wins include a 24-21 upset of the then #25 LSU Tigers, ending their 46 game non-conference home winning steak for the Tigers, and a 24-19 win over Nebraska.
Before his time at Troy, Brown was offensive coordinator under Mark Stoops at Kentucky and Tommy Tuberville of Texas Tech.
