Saturday night is the showdown between the U.S and the U.K. Wilder(40-0 39 KOs) against Fury (27-0, 19 KOs) with the WBC belt on the line, and their title of undefeated in jeopardy.
The Wilder right hand is the talk of this fight so far. Especially after his last fight against Luis Ortiz. It was his first real challenge. Wilder had a early knockdown in the fight but Ortiz came back, and was able to land some nice shots. Wilder seemed a little stunned after the barrage of punches he took from Ortiz. The champ finally KO’d Ortiz in the 10th round. So remember if Wilder wins it is because Right hand = KO.
Tyson Fury is a very smart fighter and can give you many looks inside the ring that will keep you unbalanced. He will be relying on this very heavily against Wilder. Fury is coming off two decision wins. We all remember his fight against Klitschko. He stunned the boxing world that day with his win. He then stepped away for awhile and Wilder will be his first true test since his return.
I see this fight being slow at first as they try and feel each other out. Wilder will want to stand in the middle of the ring and slug it out. Fury knows he can’t do this and will try and turn this in to a boxing match. I still see Wilder taking this fight and keeping his belt.
The winner of this fight will most likely face Anthony Joshua for all his belts. Joshua wants Wilder to win so he can try and take the WBC belt from Wilder.
Wilder is the favorite right now for betting odds and most experts believe he will win. I hope Wilder does win so we can see another U.S. vs. U.K. match up in 2019.
