Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton will miss the remainder of the season after being placed on Injured Reserved due to an unspecified thumb injury.
The injury forced Dalton to leave last week’s game against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns went on to defeat the Bengals 35 – 10 behind rookie QB Baker Mayfield while Bengals backup quarterback Jeff Driskel finished the game going 17 of 29 for 155 yards. He had one touchdown through the air and added another rushing touchdown as well.
The Bengals have slowly dropped down in the rankings and are currently third in their division behind Pittsburgh and Baltimore, so the news of Dalton’s injury is not a good sign for their season.
Cincinnati has yet to name a starting quarterback moving forward, but they did sign journeyman Tom Savage to their roster to help bolster the position.
