Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimović scored a wonderful, physics-breaking goal against Toronto FC tonight and officially reached 500 career goals for club and country. He joins 27 other men, including Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as the few who can say they’ve reached this summit.
The Galaxy striker blasted a lob pass from Jonathan dos Santos right through the back of the net. And he did so with a backward rotating roundhouse kick that looked more like a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick than any shot once thought possible. Check it out right here.
The 36-year-old joined the Galaxy at the beginning of the 2018 season after playing his entire career in Europe. He has already scored 17 goals in 22 appearances for the club while also rustling feathers all over the league.
Ibrahimović accumulated loads of goals while suiting up for Malmö, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United. He also scored a record 62 goals for his native Sweden from 2001 to 2016. And he is probably the greatest player to have played in Europe to never win the Ballon d’Or.
