After a series of substance abuse and persistent injuries, the Cleveland Browns decided to part ways with Josh Gordon on Monday. In a statement given by Browns General Manager, John Dorsey, it was expressed that the team had given many chances to the receiver. Although talented, Gordon was riddled with issues that affected his personal life, and now, his career.
Reportedly, the team doctors had also noticed a hamstring injury on the player, which worsened his substance abuse, and consequently worsened his relationship to the team. As the GM stated, the team had tried to restore Gordon’s career by investing any resources that the player would need in terms of rehab and medical attention. In the end, Gordon is a free agent, and the Browns need a talented receiver.
