The inevitable has officially happened. Ferrari announced earlier today that Sauber driver and rookie breakout Charles LeClerc has officially signed a deal for the 2019 F1 season, replacing veteran Kimi Raikkonen.
Kimi Raikkonen will take LeClerc’s place as lead Sauber driver for 2019-2020.
This is the biggest news since Daniel Ricciardo announced he was leaving the despairing Red Bull team for Renault.
In other news, it has been announced that British teenager Lando Norris will be replacing Stoffel Vandoorne at McLaren to race alongside Carlos Sainz Jr. meanwhile at Red Bull, Pierre Gasly will be taking Daniel Ricciardo’s place as teammate to Max Verstappen.
