This WNBA Player Just Set An All Time High In Season Assists

Passing Ticha Penicheiro, Chicago Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot moved to the top of the all-time list for assists in a single season during a nail biter against the Minnesota Lynx Tuesday night.

After racking up double digit assists during Tuesday’s contest, it helped her assist total on the year reach 241. The previous record was set at 236. Vandersloot also managed to achieve this in two less games than Ticha, who was a teammate of Vandersloot in 2012.

Only two players in WNBA history have ever averaged at least seven assists per game in a season and Courtney Vandersloot is one of them. The other… Sue Bird.

Although the Sky are not having the season they wanted and have been easy to overlook, don’t look past the fact that Vandersloot is still performing at an elite level. She will likely go down as one of the best point guards to ever play the game.
