After spending the last two season with the Bengals, WR Brandon LaFell has requested his release. Today, the Bengals granted it to him.
Over those two season, LaFell was the number two option behind AJ Green. He brought in 96 receptions, 1,410 yards, and nine touchdowns while a member of the team.
LaFell would be battling breakout candidate John Ross for the number two spot this training camp. According to Marvin Lewis he was “feeling the heat” from the position battles.
With all the young talent at WR the Bengals have, it’s no surprise that LaFell was let go to give them move playing time throughout training camp.
