As if the trade deadline couldn’t get any more interesting, the Milwaukee Brewers shook things up in the National League as they acquired 3B Mike Moustakas from the Kansas City Royals on Friday night.

This deal will send back two minor league players, OF Brett Phillips and RHP Jorge Lopez.

Moustakas, who will be an unrestricted free agent after this season, is batting .249 with 20 home runs. He will add some depth to the Milwaukee third-base side as Travis Shaw is posting similar numbers this year (.246 BA and 19 home-runs).

This definitely shakes things up as the race for the NL Central heats up with the Chicago Cubs. These 2 teams will play each other 8 more times, and it seems like these upcoming games will have much more meaning than the previous ones, as the season will be winding down and we separate the good from the bad.
