According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Vince Carter has agreed to a 1-year, $2.4 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks. Carter is 41 and will be entering his 21st NBA season.
For that price, Carter, the eight-time All-Star will provide the young Hawks team with a veteran presence to mentor players like first-round pick, Trae Young.
It remains to be seen how the Hawks will balance the playing time among all of their new acquisitions and younger players, now including Carter, Jeremy Lin, and Justin Anderson.
The Hawks plummeted from the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, and 43 wins in 2017 to the bottom of the barrel of the East last year.
