The Atlanta Falcons have informed superstar Wide Receiver Julio Jones that he will not be getting a contract extension before the start of the new season.
Jones wanted a pay raise from the $14.2 million on average he was already making. Jones is one of the top two in the league at his position, and wants to be paid as such. The team has just over $5 million in cap space at this time.
He has already stated that he will not hold out going into the season in search of a new deal. Jones’ current contract brings him through 2020 on a very team friendly deal. The Falcons don’t have to rush on re-signing him unless he threatens to hold out.
