At last night’s G1 Special, NJPW Junior Heavyweight Champion Himoru Takahashi faced Dragon Lee for the JHW championship. During the match, Dragon Lee went for a cradle suplex on Takahashi, but released him on the throw instead of catching him. Takahashi took a disturbing hit to his neck, sliding about three feet while on his neck.

Amazingly, Takahashi finished the match and even retained his title. When he got to the back, he collapsed and was rushed to a hospital. It wasn’t until this morning that the break was confirmed.

Hiromu Takahashi won the Junior Heavyweight title just a month ago at Dominion and will now have to vacate it. Below is a short clip of the incident:

Hiromu is personally my favorite junior in NJPW and I’m praying for a healthy recovery.
